BRIEF DESCRIPTION

In this project , we are exploring to implement a model for hypermedia document system. The model consists of three layers : Runtime Layer, Document Description Layer and Storage Layer. Document Description Layer contributes to define document templates . It not only determines the structure of the Storage Layer, but also forms a bridge between the Runtime Layer and the Storage Layer. In the Document Description Layer, ODA architecture is employed for representing document, and extensive ASN.1 is used to describe document logical structure. The structure of the Storage Layer which includes database schema would be automatically generated and updated based on the above logical structure , with the aid of a mapping procedure. To verify the layered model, we proposed a generic hypermedia document system. Its design objective is to cater for diverse environments, and its access operation and storage structure would be transparent to user.
